Pastime Paragraph for JSC, SSC and HSC
Anything we do regularly for pleasure instead of work is called recreation or pastime. In other words, recreation means leisure time activities. It varies from place to place. Entertainment in our country varies from region to region. In the village we see men spending their free time chatting. They like to spend their time in sports like ha-doo-doo, boat racing, kite flying etc. Some people in the village entertain themselves through social activities. Some take part in cultural activities like yantras and jari songs. In towns and villages, we find people entertaining themselves by indulging in political discussions at tea stalls. This scientific age has changed the entertainment style of people living in cities. They like to spend their free time in front of the television. They watch programs on various satellite channels. The young generation loves cricket very much and hence they like sports channels. Women in the city prefer to watch dramas and movies on television. Chinese people spend time in parks with their family members. The Japanese love sports and spend their time practising baseball, golf and martial arts. Students spend their free time in the English club or art club or skateboarding. Hence there are regional differences in entertainment. Popular pastimes around the world are watching television, reading novels, collecting stamps, sightseeing, gardening, walking, gossiping, fishing, going on picnics, etc. I have a keen interest in photography. So it's my favourite pastime.
আমরা কাজের পরিবর্তে আনন্দের জন্য নিয়মিত যা করি তাকে বিনোদন বলা হয়। অন্য কথায়, বিনোদন মানে অবসর সময়ের কার্যক্রম। এটি স্থানভেদে পরিবর্তিত হয়। আমাদের দেশে বিনোদন অঞ্চল ভেদে ভিন্ন হয়। গ্রামে আমরা দেখি পুরুষরা আড্ডায় অবসর সময় কাটাচ্ছে। তারা হা-ডু-ডু, নৌকা দৌড়, ঘুড়ি ওড়ানো ইত্যাদি খেলাধুলায় তাদের সময় কাটাতে পছন্দ করে। গ্রামের কিছু মানুষ সামাজিক কর্মকাণ্ডের মাধ্যমে নিজেদের বিনোদন দেয়। কেউ কেউ যাত্রা, জারি গানের মতো সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মকাণ্ডে অংশ নেয়। শহর ও গ্রামে আমরা দেখতে পাই মানুষ চায়ের স্টলে রাজনৈতিক আলোচনায় লিপ্ত হয়ে নিজেদের বিনোদন দিচ্ছে। এই বৈজ্ঞানিক যুগ শহরে বসবাসকারী মানুষের বিনোদনের ধরন বদলে দিয়েছে। তারা টেলিভিশনের সামনে অবসর সময় কাটাতে পছন্দ করে। তারা বিভিন্ন স্যাটেলাইট চ্যানেলে অনুষ্ঠান দেখেন। তরুণ প্রজন্ম ক্রিকেটকে খুব ভালোবাসে এবং তাই তারা স্পোর্টস চ্যানেল পছন্দ করে। শহরের নারীরা টেলিভিশনে নাটক ও সিনেমা দেখতে পছন্দ করেন। চীনারা তাদের পরিবারের সদস্যদের সাথে পার্কে সময় কাটায়। জাপানিরা খেলাধুলা পছন্দ করে এবং বেসবল, গল্ফ এবং মার্শাল আর্ট অনুশীলন করে তাদের সময় ব্যয় করে। শিক্ষার্থীরা ইংলিশ ক্লাব বা আর্ট ক্লাব বা স্কেটবোর্ডিংয়ে অবসর সময় কাটায়। তাই অঞ্চলভেদে বিনোদনের পার্থক্য রয়েছে। সারা বিশ্বের জনপ্রিয় বিনোদন হল টেলিভিশন দেখা, উপন্যাস পড়া, ডাকটিকিট সংগ্রহ করা, দর্শনীয় স্থান দেখা, বাগান করা, হাঁটা, গসিপ করা, মাছ ধরা, পিকনিকে যাওয়া ইত্যাদি। ফটোগ্রাফিতে আমার গভীর আগ্রহ রয়েছে। তাই এটা আমার প্রিয় বিনোদন ।

A pastime is anything done to pass the time pleasantly. A hobby means it is someone's favourite occupation, but not one's main occupation. Fun varies from person to person. This can be reading books, journals, and magazines, travelling, photography, angling, stamp collecting, playing games and singing non-professionally. This can be watching TV, listening to music, playing computer games, gardening and doing yoga. Entertainment is a source of pleasure and relaxation. People in today's world are very busy with their professional work. They work for hours. As a result, they feel bored and they lose their mental strength. So, they need entertainment for entertainment as it relieves the monotony of work and mental fatigue. It also refreshes our body and mind. It revitalizes our lives. Knowledge can be acquired through entertainment. Observation is one of them. Many of us prefer to choose bird watching as our pastime. They can feel the beauty of birds and above all, they can realize the significance of the beautiful creation of Almighty Allah. Recreational activities such as sports, gardening and yoga are good forms of exercise. There are many types of yoga practices that can be considered recreational. For example, meditation is an excellent yoga practice. Anyone can practice meditation at their leisure. They are beneficial for health. The great men of the world were fond of entertainment for their own enjoyment. For example, Rabindranath Tagore used to enjoy his pastime of boating on the Padma River. This journey helped him unlock his potential. We should entertain but not spend time neglecting the main occupation.
বিনোদন হল আনন্দদায়ক সময় কাটানোর জন্য করা কিছু। শখ মানে এটা কারো প্রিয় পেশা, কিন্তু কারো প্রধান পেশা নয়। মজা ব্যক্তি ভেদে পরিবর্তিত হয়। এটি বই পড়া, জার্নাল, ম্যাগাজিন, ভ্রমণ, ফটোগ্রাফি, অ্যাঙ্গলিং, স্ট্যাম্প সংগ্রহ, গেম খেলা এবং অ-পেশাদার গান করা হতে পারে। এটি হতে পারে টিভি দেখা, গান শোনা, কম্পিউটার গেম খেলা, বাগান করা এবং যোগব্যায়াম। বিনোদন হল আনন্দ এবং বিশ্রামের উৎস। বর্তমান বিশ্বের মানুষ তাদের পেশাগত কাজে খুব ব্যস্ত। তারা ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা কাজ করে। ফলে তারা বিরক্ত বোধ করে এবং তারা তাদের মানসিক শক্তি হারিয়ে ফেলে। সুতরাং, তাদের বিনোদনের জন্য বিনোদন প্রয়োজন কারণ এটি কাজের একঘেয়েমি এবং মানসিক ক্লান্তি দূর করে। এটি আমাদের শরীর ও মনকেও সতেজ করে। এটি আমাদের জীবনকে পুনরুজ্জীবিত করে। বিনোদনের মাধ্যমে জ্ঞান অর্জন করা যায়। পর্যবেক্ষণ তাদের মধ্যে একটি। আমরা অনেকেই তাদের বিনোদন হিসেবে পাখি দেখা বেছে নিতে পছন্দ করি। তারা পাখির সৌন্দর্য অনুভব করতে পারে এবং সর্বোপরি তারা মহান আল্লাহর সুন্দর সৃষ্টির তাৎপর্য উপলব্ধি করতে পারে। বিনোদনমূলক ক্রিয়াকলাপ যেমন খেলাধুলা, বাগান করা এবং যোগব্যায়াম অনুশীলনের ভাল ফর্ম। অনেক ধরণের যোগ অনুশীলন রয়েছে যা বিনোদনমূলক বলে বিবেচিত হতে পারে। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, ধ্যান একটি চমৎকার যোগ অনুশীলন। যে কেউ তাদের অবসর সময়ে ধ্যান অনুশীলন করতে পারেন। এগুলো স্বাস্থ্যের জন্য উপকারী। পৃথিবীর মহাপুরুষরা নিজেদের ভোগের জন্য বিনোদনের প্রতি অনুরাগী ছিলেন। যেমন, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর পদ্মা নদীতে নৌকা চালিয়ে তার বিনোদন উপভোগ করতেন। এই যাত্রা তাকে তার সম্ভাবনা আনলক করতে সাহায্য করেছে। আমাদের বিনোদন করা উচিত কিন্তু মূল পেশাকে অবহেলা করে সময় ব্যয় করা উচিত নয়।
