Deforestation or indiscriminate cutting down of trees has become a global problem in recent times. Deforestation refers to the indiscriminate destruction of forests. This is the opposite of a plantation. The most common causes of deforestation are the cutting down of trees and the burning of the rainforest. The population of the world is constantly increasing. This growing population requires more land for housing and cultivation. They also need wood, timber, fuel and furniture. So people cut trees to meet this demand. Sometimes forest lands encroach on in the name of development. Also, many unscrupulous people cut our forest trees for money. Deforestation has many adverse effects on our life and the environment. Removing trees leaves room for birds and other animals that live on them. It also seriously damages the soil, as trees also protect the soil. Global carbon dioxide levels are rising due to deforestation. As a result, the world is getting warmer. Most importantly, deforestation is largely responsible for climate change, resulting in rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, floods, cyclones, droughts, melting polar ice caps, etc. It also disrupts our agricultural production. Deforestation must be tackled to protect our existence. For this, common people should be made aware of the causes and consequences of deforestation. Tree substitutes must be used. Government should make strict laws to protect our forests. By preventing deforestation, we can afford a better environment for ourselves.
