Today we will learn what Parts Of Speech? What is Part of Speech?
সহজ কথায় বলতে গেলে , বাক্যের অর্ন্তগত প্রত্যেকটি অর্থবোধক শব্দকে Part of Speech বলে । In English, Every word of a sentence is a part of speech. একই শব্দ বিভিন্ন সময় বিভিন্ন Parts of Speech এ ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাই মনে রাখতে হবে Part of Speech সবসময় শব্দের ব্যবহারের উপর নির্ভরশীল ।
In simple words, every meaningful word in a sentence is called Part of Speech. In English, every word of a sentence is a part of speech. The same word is used at different times in different Parts of Speech, so it must be remembered that Part of Speech is always dependent on the use of words.
নিচে কিছু উদাহরণ দেয়া হলো যা তোমাদের বুঝতে সহায়ক হবে - Below are some examples which will help you understand.
Sink a well for water. ( used as a noun)
I hope you are well now. (used as an adjective)
Tears welled from her eyes. (used as a verb)
He writes well. (used as an adverb)
There are 8 Parts of Speech. অর্থাৎ মোট ৮ প্রকারের Parts of Speech রয়েছে ।

So, let's start with nouns. First of all, we need to know what noun is.
Nouns are naming words. A noun names something. Noun হল নামবাচক শব্দ। Noun কোন কিছুর নামকে বুঝায় ।
Here's an example-
Rahim, Karim, Ratul etc. Here's Rahim is a person's name; It's a noun.
Noun প্রধানত দু্ই প্রকার -
- Concrete Noun (ইন্দ্রিয়গ্রাহ্যমূলক বিশেষ্য)
- Abstract Noun (চিন্তামূলক বা গুনবাচক বিশেষ্য)

Proper Nouns-
বাংলায় নামবাচক বিশেষ্য, যে সব noun কোন নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি, স্থান বা বস্তুকে বোঝায় সেগুলো হল Proper Nouns.
In English, nouns that refer to a specific person, place, or object are proper nouns.
Common Nouns-
বাংলায় জাতিবাচক বিশেষ্য বলা হয়, যে সব noun কোন নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি, স্থান বা বস্তুকে না বুঝিয়ে ঐ জাতীয় প্রতিটি জিনিসকে বুঝায় তাকেই Common Nouns বলে ।
Common Nouns are nouns that refer to general items or things.
Some examples are given below-
Proper Nouns to Common Nouns
Nasima - A Girl
Nasim - A Boy
Dhaka - A City
Friday - A Day
April - A Month
Collective Nouns-
Collective nouns: যে সব noun একই জাতীয় ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা প্রাণীকে পৃথক পৃথকভাবে না বুঝিয়ে সমষ্টিগতভাবে বুঝায় তাকে Collective nouns বলে ।
যেমন-
Team, Committee, Party, Class ইত্যাদি । Common and Collective nouns হল Countable Nouns - যা গণনা করা যায়।
Noun of Multitude: Collective Noun পৃথকভাবে কোন কিছু বুঝালে Noun of Multitude হয় । যেমন -
The jury were divided in their opinions.
Material Nouns
যে সব noun এমন কতকগুলো বস্তু বুঝায় যা গণনা করা যায় না; কিন্তু ওজন করা যায় সেগুলো হয় Material Nouns যেমন - gold,iron,water,rice,milk,gas ইত্যাদি ।
Abstract Nouns :
যে সব noun কোন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর নাম না বুঝিয়ে সেই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর গুন, দোষ বা অবস্থার নাম বুঝায় তাকেই Abstract Nouns বলে ।
যেমন - goodness,kindness, happiness,beauty, love,sorrow ইত্যাদি ।
One kind of Noun used as another ( এক প্রকার বিশেষ্য অন্য প্রকার বিশেষ্যরুপে ব্যবহৃত হয় ) :
১) Proper used as common : একই নামের একাধিক কেউ থাকলে বা একই নামের ব্যক্তির সাথে
কারো সাদৃশ্য প্রদর্শণে - There are ten Karims in our school.
২) Common used as Abstract :
সাধারণভাবে কোন জাতি না বুঝিয়ে কোন গুন প্রকাশে -
The mother (= motherly affection) in her rose.
৩) Material used as Common :
কোন বিশেষ পদার্থকে না বুঝিয়ে অন্য কিছু সাধারণভাবে বুঝালে -
The gold of this ornament is pure.
৪) Collective used as Common :
একই বস্তু একাধিক বুঝালে - There are ten classes in our school.
Compound Nouns: একাধিক noun মিলে একটি noun রূপে ব্যবহৃত হলে বা একটি noun'র কাজ করলে, তাকে compound noun বলে ।
যেমন - summon holiday, country boat,college library, tower bridge, swimming pool ইত্যাদি ।
